On Thursday, April 10, 2025, the atmosphere of a grand day reigns at La Badira, the only hotel in Tunisia that is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World . The program includes the inauguration of the Leïla Menchari Suite, in tribute to the one who was called "The Queen Mage".
Leïla Menchari was the first woman to manage the windows of the famous store Hermès in Paris. Her unique talent and passion for Hammamet, the city that nourished her imagination, are reflected in each of her creations. Inspired by her universe, the new LEGEND suite at La Badira celebrates the creativity and timeless elegance of this artist who elevated Tunisian culture and craftsmanship and made a mark on the history of fashion and luxury worldwide.
The event is enhanced by the presence of Antoine Platteau, Director of Decoration at the Hermès House, witnessing the indelible mark left by "The Fairy of Hermès" on the world of design and high decoration. Arlette Zouaoui and Chebilia Sayah Kaouel, the designers of the suite, are also present alongside the artists who contributed to the creation of this universe, such as Mehdi Benedetto and Sinda Belhassen. A few local and foreign journalists from renowned media outlets are also among the guests.
Offering a breathtaking view of the Mediterranean, the 160 m² suite with a private pool embodies the visionary spirit and refinement of Leïla Menchari. Its decor, a subtle mix of noble materials, vibrant colors, and Tunisian craftsmanship, reflects her unique aesthetic and love for beauty in all its forms.
"We wanted to celebrate Leïla Menchari’s legacy through a space that resembles her, combining elegance, authenticity, and poetry. This suite is an invitation to discover Hammamet in a new light, through the eyes of an artist who loved it so much." (said Mouna Ben Halima, C.E.O. of La Badira)
After visiting the suite, boxes were set up overlooking the sea, and the guests had fun creating a window display example with fabrics, furniture, antiques, and various decorative objects available to them.
Since its opening, La Badira has embodied hotel excellence and the promotion of Tunisian heritage. 2025 marks its 10th anniversary, and several events are planned until December. In celebrating its 10th anniversary, the hotel reaffirms its commitment to promoting art, culture, and Tunisian craftsmanship, while offering its guests an exclusive and unforgettable experience.
