Departure from hotels. Arrival in Mahdia . City tour: tourist area – cornice – lighthouse – Punic ports. Guided tour of the great fort: it is a large, very distorted rectangular building, flanked by three projecting bastions at the corners. The two doors in the main facade of the fort, being recent and dating back to the colonial period, were pierced during the transformation of the monument into a prison. Borj Kabir occupies the highest location on the Mahdia peninsula and was built at the end of the 16th century to accommodate the Ottoman military garrison. Visit to the medina of Mahdia, passing by the most important monuments: mosques, Skifa Elkahla, colorful shops... Continuation towards Monastir. Arrival in Monastir . Visit the ribat: built at the end of the 7th century, it is one of the most impressive monuments in Tunisia.
Lunch .
Visit the Bourguiba mausoleum: located in the middle of a cemetery, it was built during Bourguiba's lifetime, in 1963, in a modern Arab-Muslim style (decorative domes and minarets). Visit the Monastir medina: the city walls are well preserved unlike much of the interior replaced by new buildings and shops and modern roads, the result of the modernization of Habib Bourguiba's hometown. Free time for walking and shopping. Departure towards Sousse. Arrival in Sousse: passage through the fishing port view of the ramparts of the medina with its peak monuments above the walls: kasbah and ribat – continuation via Bourguiba avenue – Boujaafar beach – the tourist route.
Arrival at Port El Kantaoui : orientation and free time.
Port el Kantaoui is located along the most extensive tourist route in Tunisia, dotted with numerous shops, cafes and restaurants with sunny terraces. Between seaside activities, shopping, water sports, golf or discovery of the art of living and crafts of the Sahel. Return to hotels.
