“Romena Tour in Testour” stands out as a structured and innovative tourism experience, transforming the pomegranate—an emblematic product of the region—into a true territorial signature and a lever for sustainable economic development.
On the occasion of a B2B Day held on February 3, 2026, bringing together travel agencies, tour operators, and media representatives, Testour presented an immersive, coherent, and differentiated tourism offering, built around concrete, sensory, and participatory experiences.
Designed as an experiential thematic route, “Romena Tour in Testour” offers a progressive discovery of the territory through the pomegranate, a fruit deeply linked to the region’s history, climate, and local agricultural practices. This initiative is the result of a public–private partnership bringing together regional institutions under the supervision of the Ministries of Agriculture, Tourism, and Cultural Affairs. It benefits from the support of the Market Access Project for Agrofood and Terroir Products (PAMPAT), implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO Tunisia) and funded by the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), as part of a national strategy to enhance and promote local products.

“Romena Tour in Testour” perfectly illustrates the approach we support through PAMPAT: structuring tourism experiences around local products in order to create economic value, strengthen the attractiveness of territories, and preserve local know-how, emphasized Ms. Lamia Chekir Thabet, National Coordinator of the PAMPAT project.

The B2B Day offered participants a fully immersive experience at the heart of the pomegranate universe through a structured itinerary featuring a wide range of activities. Upon arrival, visitors were welcomed at the Testour Zipline Site, one of the route’s key stops, with a welcome gourmet break featuring pomegranate-based products. This first stage introduced the route concept and highlighted the landscape dimension of the territory through the activity “Pomegranate Orchards from the Sky”, offering an aerial view of plantations and terrain.
The journey continued with pomegranate processing and valorization workshops, designed as genuine moments of knowledge sharing and exchange. The “Jollanar” pomegranate juice preparation workshop introduced participants to pressing methods and fresh fruit valorization, while the pomegranate jelly workshop, organized by the women’s group “Pluri’Elles”, highlighted traditional artisanal techniques used to transform the fruit into high value-added products.
The “Rechta Hlowa” culinary workshop, led by Bit Lmouna, another women’s cooperative, offered an immersion into Testour’s gastronomic heritage through an iconic traditional pastry, revealing the close link between cuisine, collective memory, and local identity.

These experiences made it possible to extend discovery beyond the agri-food sector, highlighting the cultural and symbolic dimension of the pomegranate, while illustrating the complementarity between agriculture, gastronomy, handicrafts, and leisure activities.
Through this series of complementary activities, the Pomegranate Route “Romena Tour in Testour”, which brings together eight members operating in the fields of processing, catering, and handicrafts, offers a complete tourism experience, clear and easy to integrate into experiential tourism circuits. It demonstrates the territory’s ability to structure a sustainable tourism offering around an emblematic local product, by creating connections between agriculture, gastronomy, crafts, leisure, and tourist hospitality.

This initiative confirms Testour’s ambition to position itself as a benchmark destination for terroir tourism in Tunisia, and as an inspiring model for territorial valorization at the national level.
“The experiences built around the pomegranate are both authentic and innovative. They offer new ideas to enrich our tourism offer and meet the expectations of travelers seeking local discoveries. An inspiring approach that enhances the territory of Testour,” stated a representative of the travel agency “Bonheur Voyage”.
